Local Diocesan Mission

The area of Local Diocesan Mission serves the Coptic and non-Coptic community.

Our Coptic community has various needs that we hope to address and alleviate through these projects.

Services for the Coptic Community include Entertaining the Angel, which is a service for newcomers, Coptic Integrated Family Services (CIFS), which offers mental health education and treatment, and ATOD Drug Prevention, which provides drug awareness to Coptic youth and their families. These programs currently target the Coptic community with the hope of expanding to the greater community.

Services for the non-Coptic community fall under the Community Services category of Santa Verena Charity and include services for the homeless and for women and youth shelters. We work in conjunction with FOCUS-‘Fellowship of Orthodox Christians United to Serve,’ to provide for needy families in the community.

It is good to remember that when we serve the non-Coptic community, we are also serving ourselves in that we are carrying out the commands of our Lord Jesus Christ and receive countless blessings and lessons.

Entertaining the Angel and Community Services are programs of Santa Verena Charity that are carried out by each individual church. If your church has not yet organized these services, please contact us and we can assist you in starting these programs.

Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45
