House of Hope

Project Name: Service at the House of Hope Women and Children’s Shelter in Santa Ana, CA.

Goal: To provide fellowship to the women of the shelter and to provide mentoring by the youth at St. Marina Church to the children of the shelter.

When it was founded: We started going to the shelter in 2005

How Can You Help: There are many shelters within our diocese communities that need help. This is a great way to teach our youth about the blessings of service. Each church can adopt a shelter and start their own program for outreach into their community.

Success Story: e-mail from one of the women who used to be in the House of Hope:

I think about all of you so much and I am so thankful that God brought us together. You and your group made a huge impact on our lives….. NormaLee is 7 and in the 2nd grade…… We have our own place and it is fabulous. God has blessed us in so many ways…… I am so excited to hear from you.. It is late and I have to work tomorrow ……
